Food Handlers Certificate “Short Courses”

Who needs the Food Safety Course in Melbourne?
Any business that serves food must ensure that members of their staff hold certificates in food safety hygiene.
Level 1 Food Safety – Food Handler’s Certificate: This course has been designed for people involved in food preparation and provides basic hygiene principles for all food handlers.
Level 2 Food Safety Supervisor: For many food businesses in Australia it is a legal requirement that at least one Food Safety Supervisor is employed for each premises from which the business operates. This course meets all legal requirements for Food Safety Supervisor training and is valid across all states and territories.
Level 1 Food Handlers Certificate covers the following areas:
- Correct storage temperatures
- Dealing with danger foods
- Personal hygiene for staff members
- Cleaning food preparation areas
- Prevention measures in the kitchen
- Pest control
Nationally Accredited
This program is nationally accredited as ‘Use hygenic practices for food safety’ (SITXFSA001)
Level 2 Food Safety – Food Safety Supervisor covers the following areas:
- Implement procedures for food safety
- Follow food safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance of all food handling practices.
- Control food hazards at critical control points
- Complete food safety monitoring processes and complete documents as outlined in the food safety program
- Identify and report practices that are inconsistent with the food safety program
- Take corrective actions for incidents where food hazards are unacceptable

This program is nationally accredited as ‘Participate in safe food handling practices’ (SITXFSA002)
Pre-Requisite: Participants must hold SITXFSA001 or equivalent before undertaking SITXFSA002
